Percy Jackson and the Olympians: From Second Season to Third Season Renewal

Percy Jackson and the Olympians returns with its second season, a new chapter in the saga. The series, faithfully adapting Rick Riordan’s novels, continues its journey through the world of demigods with an even more ambitious adventure.

Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri will reprise their roles as Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Grover Underwood, the trio at the heart of the series. Alongside them, we’ll see Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse and Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan. Percy Jackson and the Olympians continues to rely on this young cast who, in Riordan’s own words, deserves “their moment to breathe and embody these characters without worrying about what came before.”

The world of Percy Jackson will expand further, introducing key new characters from the saga’s second book.

The second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will adapt “The Sea of Monsters,” the second novel in the literary series. In this new adventure, Percy must face a dangerous mission in the Sea of Monsters to retrieve the Golden Fleece, necessary to save Thalia’s Tree and, with it, the magical boundaries of Camp Half-Blood.

Percy Jackson will confront new threats while exploring his demigod abilities. Like the shell that imprisons the protagonists of Kafka’s novels, Percy also seeks to break free from the chains of his destiny, navigating between perils and discoveries.

The second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will premiere on December 10, 2025. Disney+ will release the first two episodes simultaneously, titled “I Play Dodgeball with Cannibals” and “Demon Pigeons Attack,” then continue with one episode per week until January 21, 2026, for a total of eight episodes.

The production of Percy Jackson is already projected toward the future: the series has been renewed for a third season even before the second season’s debut, confirming Disney’s confidence in the project.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be available for streaming on Disney+ and, for the first time, also on Hulu. The first season of Percy Jackson achieved remarkable success with both audiences and critics, with 13.3 million viewers for the pilot episode.

Riordan emphasized that this second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be “bigger and even better” than the first. The choice to adapt the books in a serial format allows for exploring the characters’ stories in greater depth, including flashbacks of Annabeth, Luke, and Thalia’s backgrounds.

“The beauty of bringing The Sea of Monsters to the television screen is that all those little stories Annabeth tells us about her past with Luke and Thalia in the book aren’t just stories,” Riordan stated. “You can see them happening in her flashbacks.”

According to People, the trailer for the second season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians surpassed the views of the first season’s trailer by 60%, reaching 135.9 million views in just 10 days. This figure testifies to the growing popularity of the series and the audience’s expectations for this new chapter.

The story of Percy Jackson continues to navigate the sea of monsters, between ancient myths and contemporary challenges, establishing itself as a cultural phenomenon capable of speaking to new generations through the timeless language of Greek mythology.
