Aaron Taylor-Johnson has acted in 28 Years Later, Tenet and Bullet Train and Kraven The Hunter. Lily-Rose Depp has worked on Nosferatu, Voyagers and in the TV series The Idol (read the interview). Also present are Willem Dafoe, seen recently in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and Poor Things!; Ralph Ineson.

The direction and screenplay are by Robert Eggers, who has already directed the same Nosferatu, The Lighthouse and The Northman. Also writing the script is Sjón, who has already written the screenplay for Dancer in the Dark and Lamb.

The production is by Focus Features and Maiden Voyage Pictures. Filming began in September 2025 at Sky Studios Elstree, in England, to also move to a village set up in Bourne Wood in Surrey, in Wales, in the Crychan Forest and in the North Crychan Forest - on the border between the Brecon Beacons and the Cambrian Mountains - in the Puzzlewood forest and near the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire.
