The concern, the care, the fear even sometimes, that your character Gwen had for Huey Newton, she wears it on her face very well. It was palpable in the series. What emotions did you channel, and how did you channel them to stir up that powerful energy that she carried with her?

Yeah, you know, for me, honestly, a lot of it was around working with Andre. We were very diligent about protecting this little love story within, you know, all the madness that goes on in the story. And Andre's such an incredible actor, like if you just watch him and listen and pay attention, you're gonna be moved. I mean, you know that as, you know, as a viewer I'm sure, watching Andre in this series is incredible, right?

What was it like to work with André?

And so it was important for us to build up this relationship. We would talk constantly about how we can make it better. And then when you call action, just looking at him and being present, that was really all I needed. So yeah, if I would just stay present in the truth of the moment, which is really that they were fighting for their lives, there's no way that you can't be affected by that.
