TV series Widow's Bay: The Cursed New England Island with Matthew Rhys

The Plot of Widow's Bay

Widow's Bay is the upcoming TV series. The plot is set in a town on an island 40 miles off the coast of New England: Mayor Tom Loftis, played by Matthew Rhys, finds himself managing a struggling community. The island has no Wi-Fi, cell coverage works intermittently, and the inhabitants are convinced that the territory is cursed. Loftis seeks the respect of his fellow citizens, but they consider him weak and cowardly. His determination nonetheless drives him to build a better future for his teenage son, transforming the island into a tourist destination. When tourists begin to arrive, the old legends that seemed too absurd to be believable begin to manifest in reality.

The Cast and Production of the Apple TV+ Series

The series features in the cast Matthew Rhys, Kate O'Flynn, Stephen Root, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Kevin Carroll and Dale Dickey. Among the supporting roles are K Callan and Jeff Hiller, Emmy winner. Katie Dippold is the showrunner and executive producer. Hiro Murai, executive producer through Chum Films together with Carver Karaszewski, Claudia Shin and Rhys, directs five episodes.
