Filming Italy Sardegna Festival 2024
The seventh edition of
Filming Italy Sardegna Festival take place from June 20 to 23, 2024 at Forte
Village in Cagliari. The Festival has become a reference point for the
promotion of audiovisual products", confirms Rocca, "and for many
young students who have approached the world of the seventh art full of hope
and curiosity".
The Honorary President of the Festival will be
actress Brie Larson: the jury president for our short film will be Paz
Vega. American actress and singer Bella Thorne
will receive the Filming Italy International Award for her directorial debut,
the short film Paint Her Red, which will be screened during the Festival. Claudia
Gerini and Harvey Keitel, two great actors of film, television and
theater, will play the role of "Ambassadors of the Festival".
For Rocca, "a woman has to work twice as
hard to prove herself, this is a rule in all professions, so you need a lot of
determination, a lot of tenacity, a lot of willpower. There is a need for many
more female directors who tell beautiful and interesting stories and put the
figure of the woman in the spotlight. So we hope that many women will choose
more women. I think this is the most important thing: to create more synergy
and to be more complicit.
International guests at this year's Filming Italy Sardegna include Matt
Bomer, Colman Domingo, Bo Derek, Rosario Dawson, Patricia Arquette, Harvey
Keitel, Katie Holmes, Ioan Gruffudd, Carla Gugino, Dolph Lundgren, Simon Baker,
Kate Beckinsale, John David Washington, Liam Cunningham, Nell Tiger
Free, Alexandra Daddario and Gemma Arterton.
