Reminders of Him, the movie’s plot

Reminders of Him is the drama movie coming out. The plot follows the story of Kenna Rowan (Maika Monroe): after serving five years in prison for a tragic mistake, she returns to her town, hoping to reunite with the young daughter she has never known: the child’s father, Scotty Landry (Rudy Pankow), is dead.

But by now the past has destroyed the bridges with the present, and reestablishing normality is difficult. Everyone is determined to exclude her, regardless of how much she strives to prove her worth.

The only person who hasn’t pushed her away is Ledger Ward (Tyriq Withers), former NFL player and owner of a local bar, and one of the few remaining links to Kenna’s daughter. This budding relationship is dangerous, however: if anyone were to discover it, Kenna and Ledger would risk losing the trust of their loved ones.

“There was a time before you. And there was a time with you. I didn’t think a time with you was possible,” says Kenna to Scotty in the released trailer. After a fatal car accident, the court sentences her to “seven years in prison.”

Once out of prison, Kenna looks for work, but always hears the same response: “We don’t hire people with a record.” “Do you hate me?” Kenna asks Ledger; “I hated you, but now I would give you the whole world.” Then Kenna tries to see her daughter again: “Maybe I should go,” she says to Ledger; “maybe you should stay,” he replies.

Reminders of Him, the movie’s cast

Maika Monroe recently acted in Watcher, Bokeh and Longlegs, and will be in 100 Nights of Hero with Nicholas Galitzine. Tyriq Withers worked in Him and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Rudy Pankow starred in Uncharted and Accidental Texan. The direction is by Vanessa Caswill, who has already directed The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight and episodes of Little Women.

The screenplay is adapted from the novel of the same name by Colleen Hoover, published in 2022, which had good critical success, selling six million copies in the United States. From the previous book It Ends With Us the movie of the same name with Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively was adapted.

Reminders of Him, the shooting and the movie’s release date

The production is by Heartbones Entertainment and Little Engine Productions. Shooting began in Calgary on April 16, 2025 and concluded in June 2025. The movie is released in the United States March 13, 2026.
