Maximilian Davis presented Salvatore Ferragamo's new pieces at Milan Fashion Week. The fall winter 2026 2027 collection attempts to imagine something from the past, where old Hollywood glamour coexisted with the desire to cross the ocean to meet the future.

Sailor uniform codes become both a starting point and a destination, deconstructed and reassembled. Jacket necklines are designed to open at the shoulders with oversized lapels, misplaced buttons and loose laces, but also in trenches, knitwear, coats and trousers with masculine cuts, all in a uniform navy blue.

There's a constant tension between past, present and future, with a wardrobe edited from the craftsmanship itself. Pumps with pointed toes and slingbacks with deep vamps – inspired by a 1954 archive model – once again recall the nautical world or are embellished with jeweled details, while the "shell sole" architecture that Salvatore Ferragamo used in the Fifties reappears in sandals with a hybrid wedge heel.

The palette alternates intense colors like purple, blue, black and brown with just a few touches of ochre, gold and orange, inspired by artworks depicting the era – from vaguely Cubist blues to the sepia nuances of Surrealist photography. Utility style coexists with elegant evening wear like the new slip dresses in metallic lamé velvet and floral jacquard. Outerwear, from trenches to long coats to peacoats, features oversized silhouettes that dialogue with nautical knitwear needled with chiffon and textured nappa parkas with shearling-lined hoods.

Among the accessories, a new graphic bag silhouette, closed by a Gancini plaque, comes in three sizes, while the East-West shape of the Hug Bag is enriched with new colorways. In the collection, Davis has put two opposite worlds in dialogue: naval uniforms and evening wear, sartorial rigor and fluid sensuality.
