Interview with music producer and composer Marcus Bell: ' Your music has to be the right sentiment'
Marcus Bell is also in the Netflix film Operation Christmas Drop.
You wrote and sang the song "Joy to the World," in the Netflix film Operation Christmas Drop. What does a song have to have in order to be amalgamated into a movie or TV series?
This is a great question and one that I get often from writers and performers in my bootcamps. Every story has a journey and story ark. Your music has to be the right sentiment, sound, and vibe for whatever the moment is in the film or tv show. When you are able to tap into what the director or producer is trying to convey in those story telling moments, and deliver a song that is easy to clear at a reasonable price, your song will get placed. I've been fortunate to get hundreds of placements in TV and Film over the years.
