Bait: Riz Ahmed Comedy tv Series

On March 25, 2026, Prime Video will release Bait, the new comedy series starring Riz Ahmed. All six episodes will be available exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The Story of Shah Latif

Bait sees Ahmed in the role of Shah Latif, a struggling actor whose last chance to make it big comes in the form of an audition of a lifetime. The series follows him over the course of four wild days as his life spirals out of control and his family, his ex-lover, and the entire world question whether he is the right man for the job.

Ahmed comes to Bait after a particularly intense period in his career. In 2025, he played the lead in Relay, the thriller directed by David Mackenzie with Lily James and Sam Worthington, which received positive reviews and debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival. Also in 2025, the actor presented his contemporary reinterpretation of Hamlet at the Telluride Film Festival, a project he worked on for nearly a decade that transforms the Shakespearean classic into an action thriller set in contemporary London.

The Cast and Production

Alongside Ahmed, we find Guz Khan in the role of Zulfi. Khan, known for his series Man Like Mobeen which he created and starred in from 2017 to 2025, recently voiced Dasher in the animated movie That Christmas (2024) and acted in Our Flag Means Death (2022). In 2025, he starred in the TV movie Stuffed, of which he is also executive producer, and in 2026 will host Guz Khan’s Custom Cars.

Sheeba Chaddha plays Tahira, Sajid Hasan is Parvez, Aasiya Shah in the role of Q, and Weruche Opia as Felicia. Ritu Arya, who plays Yasmin, comes fresh from the success of The Umbrella Academy and is about to star in The Split Up, the spin-off of The Split set in Manchester, where she plays Aria Kishan, a brilliant divorce lawyer destined to take the reins of the family firm.

The series is executive produced by Ahmed and Allie Moore for Left Handed, with Jake Fuller on behalf of Jax Media. Ben Karlin executive produces and serves as showrunner alongside Ahmed. Bait is a production of Jax Media and Amazon MGM Studios.
