Hacks, Fifth and Final Season of TV series

The comedy series Hacks  debuts  May 29, 2025. The series has received 48 Emmy nominations across its run, including a season three win for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Season four ranked as a top five series on Max in the United States and a top 10 series globally since its debut. The season achieved domestic and global week-over-week growth throughout its run.


The fifth and final season premieres April 9, 2026  on Max. The 10-episode season will release new episodes weekly, with two episodes debuting on April 30 and May 7, 2026, leading to the series finale on May 28, 2026.

The final season follows Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) and Ava (Hannah Einbinder) as they return to Las Vegas after mistaken news reports of Deborah's death, working to secure Deborah's legacy as a comedian.

Series regulars Jean Smart, Hannah Einbinder, Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, and Rose Abdoo return for the final season. Guest stars include Robby Hoffman, Tony Goldwyn, Kaitlin Olson, Christopher McDonald, Jane Adams, Lauren Weedman, Poppy Liu, Johnny Sibilly, Luenell, Angela E. Gibbs, and Caitlin Reilly. Christopher Briney joins the cast as a new guest star.


Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky created and showrun the series. Executive producers include Downs and Aniello via their Paulilu banner, Statsky via First Thought Productions, Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment, Morgan Sackett, Joe Mande, Aisha Muharrar, Nate Young, and Ashley Glazier. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, produces the series.


Jean Smart recently appeared in Babylon (2022) and voiced characters in The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder (2022-2024). Hannah Einbinder performed stand-up comedy specials and appeared in various comedy projects. Christopher Briney starred in The Summer I Turned Pretty (2022-2023), while Kaitlin Olson continues her role in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005-present) and appeared in Flamin' Hot (2023). Tony Goldwyn recently starred in Ezra (2024) and The Inheritance (2024).
