You worked on the TV series “Headhunters”. Can you tell us something about your character?

Yes, I worked on “Headhunters”, the TV series that was filmed in Norway and Lithuania. And I played one of the supporting roles in three episodes out of six. Her name is Tanya, she is a girl with a difficult background. She is a foreigner and she is also a woman who dreams of a bigger life. She meets a guy who falls in love with her. To get what she wants she has to miss her life. By accident she gets burned alive in the car. That was extremely fun to play.

You participated at the Actor's Home event at the Cannes Film Festival. What do you think about this moment of networking for actors, producers, directors?

I think it's an important part of an actor's life. To meet people, to connect with industry professionals, to network. Right now we are at the Actor's Home, organized by the casting director Luci Lenox. This is how you become a more active participant in the industry. You are not just the one waiting for the role, you are participating. You become more of an element of the process where you actually have an impact on the industry. What I mean is that you feel like you are in charge of your career.

Can you talk about other projects and your next project?

This past year I appeared in the independent feature film called “Hysteria” (“Panicheskie Ataki”) by Ivan Tverdovskiy. It's a Norwegian-Russian story that was shot in Moscow and it won the Grand Prix at the Film Festival “Zimny” in December 2023. And now I'm working on the theater project “Three Sisters” by Anton Chekhov and I play Olga, the eldest sister. We have the premiere on June 19th in Oslo, Norway. You are welcome to join!

Can you tell us something about the new arthouse film?

Well, at the moment I'm also working on a short film that I want to co-produce myself. It's a personal story and it's in the development phase right now. We are working on the script and hopefully will shoot it this year in 2024. We are looking for funding. As I said before, as an actor you become more of a filmmaker. You get to create your own projects and take that active part in your career.

What do you think about the challenge of working in the industry as an independent actor, independent producer, also for a woman?

You might think that being an actor is not a self-reliant profession. It depends on the choice of the director or the casting director or the producer. But if you think differently, if you think that you are actually in charge of your career and you can give something to the project, you are a giver, you come to contribute to the project, you come to give an option.

You are not the one who is in need, because I think in the industry everybody needs everybody. The producer needs the director, the director needs the actor, the casting director needs the director. So we are all in demand, we all need each other.

So I think it's important to remember and to take care of yourself, to have that self-care and confidence that you are an important element in the industry, and you should come with the confidence and the one who has something to give.
