The Family Plan 2, the Plot of the Movie

The Family Plan 2 is the upcoming comedy movie. It’s the sequel to The Family Plan (2023), in which a former high-level assassin, Dan Morgan (Mark Wahlberg) lives incognito as a quiet father, but then—when his past resurfaces—he must flee with his unsuspecting family.

The sequel’s plot follows the Morgan family spending their Christmas vacation in Europe, with wife Jessica (Michelle Monaghan) and their children. But a mysterious figure from his past, Finn (Kit Harington), appears with an unsettled score.

The international chase between the two is grueling, while Dan and his family argue and make their way through a series of bank robberies, Christmas pranks, and car chases. The final showdown takes place in Las Vegas.

“I just spoke with Nina, and she’ll spend Christmas in London,” Jessica tells Dan. “No, no, the Morgans have always been together at Christmas,” he responds. So they leave to visit their daughter. When they arrive, she’s with a boyfriend.

A man threatens Dan: “I’m here to remind you of your father’s business.” “There’s no place to hide, he’ll find us,” Dan tells his family. The family moves to Paris, but Finn finds them: “Is it true you sell used cars?” he asks; “certified pre-owned,” Dan responds while they fight.

Mark Wahlberg has recently worked in Play Dirty and Arthur the King. Michelle Monaghan has acted in episodes of Echoes.

Kit Harington has recently worked in Blood for Dust, Baby Ruby, and Eternals, after portraying Jon Snow in the TV series Game of Thrones. Patrick Cavanaugh is also present, previously seen in episodes of Paradise and 9-1-1.

The direction is by Simon Cellan Jones, who also directed the first movie. The screenplay is still by David Coggeshall. The movie was the most watched on Apple TV+, until it was surpassed by Wolfs.

The production is by Apple Studios, Skydance Media, and Municipal Pictures. Filming took place from January to March 2025, between London and Paris. The movie releases streaming on Apple TV+ on November 21, 2025.
