Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, the Film’s Plot

Now You See Me: Now You Don’tis the upcoming thriller film. The plot continues to follow the illusionist thieves known as the Four Horsemen, while also introducing a new generation of magicians. “In the world of magic, everything that disappears, appears,” says J. Daniel “Danny” Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg) in the released trailer.


“I’m talking about a bigger and better trick than anything you’ve ever seen.” The objective is to steal the Heart Diamond, “the most precious jewel in history.” Scenes of struggle to steal the diamond follow, intertwined with magic performances. The magicians must then fight against a “worldwide criminal network.”

The cast includes Jesse Eisenberg as J. Daniel Atlas, a member of the Four Horsemen; Isla Fisher as Henley Reeves; Woody Harrelson as Merritt McKinney, another member; and Dave Franco as Jack Wilder, a magician specializing in card tricks. Daniel Radcliffe will play Walter Mabry, Arthur Tressler’s illegitimate son, a young technology magnate.


Morgan Freeman is Thaddeus Bradley, capable of exposing other magicians’ tricks. Among the new actors will be Rosamund Pike, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer, who previously directed Venom and Uncharted. The screenplay is inspired by characters created by Ed Solomon, Boaz Yakin, and Edward Ricourt (read the interview). The first two films grossed $687 million worldwide.

Filming began in July 2024 in Budapest with George Richmond as director of photography, and moved to Antwerp, Belgium, concluding in November. The film releases in theaters on November 14, 2025.

Now You See Me, Streaming and On-demand

The films in the series are Now You See Me (2013) and Now You See Me 2 (2016). The first is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Both are also available on-demand on iTunes.
