The Bluff, the Movie’s Plot

The Bluff is the adventure and drama movie coming out. The plot is set in the 1846 Caribbean: Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) thought she had escaped her violent past as a pirate, finding peace in the Cayman Islands with her beloved husband T.H. (Ismael Cruz Cordova), their son Isaac (Vedanten Naidoo) and sister-in-law Elizabeth (Safia Oakley-Green).

But when her infamous former captain, Connor (Karl Urban), arrives seeking revenge, Ercell’s world is in danger: forced to confront the demons she tried to bury, Ercell finds herself catapulted into a game of secrets and survival. She knows how to wield a sword, uses traps, and starts a war against Connor’s collaborators. Meanwhile, she almost seems to reclaim the warrior figure she once was.

“The bounty I’m chasing has much more value than gold” says Connor in the released trailer. Then his followers enter Ercell’s house - who has meanwhile hidden her daughters - and kidnap her. “Did you think I would let you escape” Connor yells at her.

Tied by the neck, she manages to break free and kills some of Connor’s collaborators. “Why are you so skilled at killing?” her daughter asks her; “your father didn’t marry me for how I cook” she replies. “It will only end with sand soaked in my blood or his” Ercell concludes.

The Bluff, the Movie’s Cast

Priyanka Chopra starred in Heads of State alongside Idris Elba and John Cena, and recently worked in Love Again and in the TV series Citadel. Karl Urban participated in episodes of The Boys and Almost Human, and will be in Mortal Kombat 2 in the role of Johnny Cage.

Also present are Temuera Morrison, performer in Moana 2 and episodes of Chief of War; Ismael Cruz Cordova, already seen in the series The Lord of the Rings - The Rings of Power. The direction is by Frank E. Flowers, who has already directed I Wish I Was Gay, episodes of The Ropes and various music videos.

The Bluff, the Filming and Release Date of the Movie

The production is by Amazon MGM Studios, AGBO and Chopra Jonas: AGBO - of the Russo brothers - has already produced Citadel. Filming began in June 2024 in Australia and concluded in August. The movie is released in streaming on Amazon Prime Video on February 25, 2026.
