Filming took place in and around Los Angeles. One of the places was at the Sunset Gower Studios, which is only a few blocks from where the I Love Lucy show was filmed. The studio has been there a long time, and they didn’t have to alter the backstage area much for it to resemble the way it did back then. Some of the scenes were also filmed on the Queen Mary. Aaron’s direction is very precise. Not only does he want the actors to memorize the lines to the letter, he’s not afraid to direct actors on line readings themselves. One time he told me to, “respect where the ellipsis are, and where they aren’t.” In other words, I had put one too many pauses in the line.
