Rugby and cinema: interview with actress Emily Shah, actress of film Jungle Cry
Emily Shah is actress of film Jungle Cry
The film combines drama and sport. What drew you to play the role of ‘Roshni’?
The story was missing an element of feminism - the role of a motherly or sisterly figure that these boys needed. When I learned that the character ‘Roshni’ was essential to the story, I wanted to play her because she is a strong woman who has several layers to her. ‘Roshni’ has some voids in her life that unfold throughout Jungle Cry. Unintentionally, she helps these boys in several different ways but even more so, the boys help her. Her character is graceful yet tough, which drew me to her.
